Immunohistochemical staining for H&E (row 1; x4), PCNA (row 2; x10), and CD31 (row 3; x10); immunofluorescent double staining for TUNEL and CD31 (row 4; x40); and immunofluorescent staining for TUNEL (row 5; x40) were performed in tumor-bearing liver sections from the three groups. Representative sections demonstrate a significant decrease in tumor cell proliferation (row 2), vascularity (row 3), and induction of apoptosis in endothelial cells (row 4) and tumor cells (row 5) in the SU5416 (column 2) and SU6668 (column 3) groups relative to those in the control group (column 1).
