Intravenous injections of aqueous colloidal dispersions of 3,4-benzpyrene produced in rabbits and dogs a significant decrease of serum or plasma sulfhydryl content which persisted for a considerable period of time after removal of the benzpyrene colloid from active circulation. This effect was not produced by molecularly equivalent amounts of anthracene administered in the same manner.
