Survival studies of chromium-Cr51-labeled erythrocytes in rabbits with Brown-Pearce or XV2 carcinoma demonstrated no significant deviation of the red cell life span from the normal of 6070 days. Shortened red cell life spans were demonstrated with severe infection and with acetyl phenylhydrazine-induced hemolysis.
