In studying the means of preserving the Ehrlich ascites tumor it was observed that the tumor could be maintained for at least 1 year by the addition of an equal volume of 40 per cent glycerol, and, after 1 hour, placing the stoppered preparation directly into a dry-ice chest. Another significant observation in this study was the lack of correlation between viability staining data and the recoverability of the ascites tumor.
