Two pairs of isologous human cell strains established from excised benign and malignant tissues from two individuals and cultivated synchronously have been studied with respect to growth, morphology, and karyotype. After cultivation for 2 years the four strains no longer exhibited any significant deviations in these properties. The adaptation to the in vitro milieu is discussed.
