A total of 38 compounds and antibiotics were tested against a mitomycin C-resistant Jensen Rat Sarcoma. Seventeen alkylating agents and two folic acid antagonists, which were effective against the mitomycin C-sensitive Jensen rat sarcoma, were found to be relatively non-inhibitory against the mitomycin C-resistant Jensen rat sarcoma. Nineteen compounds which were inactive or slightly inhibitory against the mitomycin C-sensitive sarcoma were judged to be relatively inactive against the mitomycin C-resistant sarcoma.
* This investigation was supported in part by a grant from the American Cancer Society and in part by contract SA-43-ph-2445, Cancer Chemotherapy National Service Center, National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health.
