The Activity of Tolerant Antileukemia Sera

II. In Vitro Activity against Normal Tissue1

Elaine Levi and Rachel Zerubavel

Immunology Laboratory, Medical Research Institute, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, California

Using the in vitro cytotoxic index against cells obtained from normal AKR/J mice, a method of predicting and paralleling the in vivo mouse toxicity of tolerant antileukemic, nontolerant antileukemic, tolerant anti-normal tissue, and nontolerant anti-normal tissue sera has been developed. This method offers a good but not perfect correlation between in vitro and in vivo observations.
