Use of Lactate Dehydrogenase as a Marker in Rat-Mouse Chimera Studies1

Rat cells contain lactate dehydrogenase isozymes that are different from the mouse isozymes. Therefore, in a rat-mouse chimera, any organ may be examined for the presence of rat-type cells.
