Bleomycin is most effective at killing Chinese hamster ovary cells in mitosis and in G2 phase. Mitosis is the most sensitive phase. In order of increasing resistance were cells treated in G2 phase, early S phase, late S phase, and G1 phase. Interference with cell progression occurred only in cell populations treated with Bleomycin in G2 phase.
