A reticulum cell sarcoma has been produced in Syrian golden hamsters after injection of a murine leukemia virus (GC). Infectious viral particles were not produced, but rescue experiments with mixed tissue culture demonstrated that the tumor cells are virogenic, and immunological studies disclosed the presence of virus-related antigens (soluble antigen and membrane-associated antigens).
