About the Cover

Cover Figure

A multi-stage murine model of squamous cell carcinoma progression has been established, and a molecular profile of gene expression has been determined by differential display and microarray. The differential display in the left panel shows the gene expression pattern among normal keratinocytes, transformed PAM 212 cells and three metastatic PAM cell lines. The cDNA microarray in the right panel shows differential expression of genes between normal keratinocytes and transformed PAM 212 cells. The two methods showed more than a 70% concordance, and microarray revealed that 45% of the genes over-expressed in metastases are associated with activation of the NF-{kappa};B signal pathway. For details, see the article by Dong et al. on p. 4797 in this issue.
