Model of docked structure of theaflavin-3' gallate (ball and sticks) into the BH3 binding pocket of Bcl-xL (surface representation). The docked structure and surface representation were generated with Sybyl-FlexX and MOLCAD, respectively. The surface was color coded according to cavity dept (blue, shallow; yellow, buried). The compound inhibits the binding of Bcl-xL to a BH3 peptide in the nanomolar range. For details, see the article by Leone et al. on p. 8118 of this issue.
