Depletion of phagocytic cells by carrageenan treatment increases the number of metastatic cells in the lungs

BALB/c, BALB/c.Pfp−/−, anti-asialo-GM1-treated, CD4-depleted, CD8-depleted, or carrageenan-treated BALB/c mice were inoculated s.c. in the abdominal mammary gland with 7 × 103 4T1 cells. Mice were killed on day 35, and the numbers of metastatic cells in the lungs and liver were determined using the clonogenic assay.
