Germ-line genes and CG genes were sorted according to sex specificity (F = female, M = male), gametogenic stage of expression initiation, transcriptional activation in somatic cells upon genomic hypomethylation induced either chemically by treatment with DAC or by deletion of DNA methyltransferases DNMT1 and DNMT3b. For breakdown in this table, members of a family of closely related genes, e.g., MAGE-A2, MAGE-A3, and MAGE-A4, were summarized.
